Trauma Services

You are feeling like you should be passed this by now. But reminders keep popping up. You are going along, minding your business, and then boom, you have a memory that makes you want to shut down. You’re not sleeping well, you’re irritable despite doing your best to be there for your family and get it all done at work. For some reason you just can’t relax. Maybe this is a new feeling or maybe it has always been this way.

You don’t have to stay like this. I can help you become aware of where to start and how to feel better. Whatever happened doesn’t have to define you. Sometimes people have before-and-after events in their life. This means before the event your life was different and after the event you feel forever changed. If there is a before-and-after event in your life, you CAN find freedom from it.

Trauma looks different for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and people of color). This can feel like failure no matter how “successful” your family and friends think you are. It can look like anger and irritability, not accepting help, trying to prevent getting close to others, or having complicated family relationships. It can also look like not speaking up for yourself and letting others walk all over you.

Many times a person with trauma can look totally fine but feel awful. It can feel like recurring headaches, stomachaches, tense muscles, bad memory, feeling disconnected from your body, overeating, avoiding social situations, not wanting to be alone, or addiction.

Healing is more than just coping skills and deep breathing. I will partner with you to pull the weeds up from the roots so you can truly be nourished and grow. I am trained in EMDR (a trauma technique that helps ugly memories be less painful so they no longer control your life) and movement therapy to address the tough stuff that is holding you back. You can go from numb to healthy again.

If you are tired of repeating the same patterns over and over, now is the time to start shifting into something better. You don’t have to be chained to your family history, childhood, or experiences. It does take work, and I am ready to help. I know you are trying. It may be time to try something new.

Stop just going through the motions and start to live again.
